The character of “Howard the Duck” was one of the most popular Marvel Comics characters of the late 1970s and early 1980s – he even ran for President in 1976! While the 1986 movie about the character was one of the rare flops of George Lucas’ Hollywood career, the comic continued, and the character’s cameo role in the 2014 Marvel Studios film “Guardians of the Galaxy” returned him to the pop culture spotlight.
Offered is a Marvel Funko Pop! Bobblehead doll of Howard the Duck, with the signature of Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee. The late Marvel writer, editor, publisher and Executive Producer has signed his name in black marker on the clear plastic window of the box containing the vinyl bobble-head doll. The box is decorated with cartoon images of the character, along with a reproduction of a collectible comic book cover illustration. The figure was produced by Funko.
Lee rose through the ranks of a family-run business to become Marvel Comics' primary creative leader for two decades, leading its expansion from a small division of a publishing house to a multimedia corporation that dominated the comics industry. In collaboration with others at Marvel—particularly co-writer/artists Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko—he co-created numerous popular fictional characters, including superheroes Spider-Man, the X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch and Ant-Man. The Stan Lee signature comes with a COA from Beckett Authentication (Q53445).
