This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2020
Offered is a Ted Williams signature and inscription on a limited-edition canvas print commemorating the Hall of Fame Boston Red Sox leftfielder’s 1942 and 1947 “Triple Crown” seasons. Williams has signed his name in blue marker in the bottom center of the 30 x 40-inch canvas, and inscribed “42 47 T. C.” below his signature. The print by artist Steve Parson features two painted images of Williams at bat, with him in his Boston road uniform at the left and in his home Red Sox uniform at the right. Williams’ figure in both images is on a background of a baseball diamond in blue and white with green grass and yellow-brown dirt inside the diamond. At the top center of the print is the caption “.406 ’42 Triple Crown ‘47” painted in navy-blue, red and white against a painted wood-grain background. At the lower center is William’s number, “9”, painted in red with blue border. The artist has signed his name in black marker in the lower right corner. The canvas is inscribed “22/139” in blue marker in the lower left corner. The stretched canvas has black tape residue along the top, bottom and side edges from a previous framing. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (BB14465).
