Audiences had never before experienced anything quite like Jimi Hendrix. His wild attire and even wilder stage presence were sights to be seen. Followers soon learned that it was his mastery of the electric guitar was a true force to be reckoned with. By experimenting with electronic sound, Hendrix created a musical drive that had been previously unimaginable. In late 1966, Hendrix journeyed to England and organized the Jimi Hendrix Experience, a creative rock band that introduced itself to audiences via the 1967 album, Are You Experienced.
Without question, Are You Experienced became one of the greatest rock masterpieces of the 1960's. Offered here is a October 1967 Track Record 4" x 6" black & white promotional photo card signed in red ballpoint by Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell. It is in very good to fine condition, with old adhesive residue and a tack hole to the top edge, scattered light creasing, and moderate contrast to all three signatures. Following their success of the legendary "Are You Experienced" album, Track Records would promote the young band with these cards featuring Hey Joe / Stone Free," "Purple Haze / 51st Anniversary," "The Wind Cries Mary / Highway Chile," "The Burning of the Midnight Lamp / The Stars That Play with Laughing Sam's Dice," and "Are You Experienced (LP)," on the reverse. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AC08457).
