Thurman Munson was the Yankees captain and icon during the 1970’s, winning the 1976 American League MVP, leading the team to three-straight World Series appearances and back-to-back World Series titles, while rejuvenating the team in the post-Mickey Mantle era. Munson played 11 seasons with the Yankees, hitting over .300 five times, before his tragic passing in an aviation accident midway through the 1979 season. Offered here is a 1972 Yankees pocket schedule signed by Munson. The former Kent State athlete hit .280 in 1972, contributing seven homers, 46 RBI, and a career-best 29 doubles for the Bronx Bombers. Munson has signed this schedule card in blue pen. This card has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (83220691).
