Thurman Munson catcher played 11 seasons in Major League Baseball with the Yankees, from 1969 until his death in 1979. A seven-time All-Star, Munson had a career batting average of .292 with 113 home runs and 701 runs batted in (RBIs). Known for his outstanding fielding, he won the Gold Glove Award in three consecutive years (1973–75). He was a key player for the Yankees squads that won the 1976 American League pennant, and the 1977 and 1978 World Series championships. Munson holds the distinction of being named the first Yankees team captain (1976) since Lou Gehrig. Offered here is an Official League Baseball signed by Thurman Munson. Munson’s signature appears on the sweet spot in black ink and was signed using a ballpoint pen and displays some minor discoloration. The signed baseball comes with a LOA from JSA (X06951).
