Tom Bradley was the first African-American mayor in Los Angeles history, and the longest serving mayor in city history. A Democrat, Bradley was elected for the first time in 1973 after a decade long spell on the Los Angeles City Council. He retired in 1993, after 20 years in office.
This framed display features a signed photograph, letter, and cut. The cut is 2 ½ by 5 inches and signed in blue pen. The letter is addressed to a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and is a response to an autograph request. Bradley signed this letter, which is typed on official Office of the Mayor stationary, in black pen. Finally, an 8 x 10 inch signed headshot photograph of Bradley is included. He inscribed the photo “To Roland Phelps / With best wishes / Tom Bradley / Mayor” in black fine tipped marker. This collection is encased in a 22 x 18 inch frame and comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA.
