When starting Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe went down during the Patriots 2001 home opener against the New York Jets, Tom Brady assumed the mantle of quarterback, and few knew what the awaited the sixth-round draft pick. Brady would make his first start as Patriots quarterback during the next game against the Indianapolis Colts, beating the Colts 44-13 in what was the first game in a bitter rivalry between star quarterback Peyton Manning and Brady. Brady would complete 13 passes on 23 attempts for 168 yards, taking the helm of the Patriots, a role he would occupy for nearly 20 seasons and six Super Bowl victories.
Offered here is a ticket from Brady’s first start as the Patriots starting quarterback against the Indianapolis Colts on September 30th, 2001. The ticket features the images of Lawyer Malloy and former Patriots great safety Tim Fox. The ticket features the game details, date, and “Game 2” on the top of the ticket in white writing on a blue background. The stadium, seating details, and ticket price are located above and below the image of the players. Brady signed and inscribed “1st NFL Start” on the image of the ticket using a silver metallic paint pen. The ticket comes encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (43911625) and is graded Auto 10, the highest grade.
