In 1953, the New York Yankees continued their unprecedented era of dominance by winning yet another World Series. American League champions by an 8.5 game margin over Cleveland, the Yankees defeated a loaded Brooklyn Dodgers team in a six-game World Series. Boasting stars such as Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto, and Hank Bauer, the Yankees of this era represent one of the most successful baseball clubs in the history of the sport.
This offered banner measures 17 x 23 inches and has “Yankees American-League Champions 1953” printed near the top in white text. A white diamond, with the names of the Yankee players printed on and around it, is located on the lower portion of the banner. This orange banner is mounted on a 21 x 27 inch rigid backing. Please note that this lot has a 25% Buyer’s Premium. Goldin Auctions will be donating 10% of the winning bid price to The Jackie Robinson Foundation.
