Walter Payton ran around, through, or over countless defenders during his 13-season NFL career. The Chicago Bears stalwart finished his career with 16,726 rushing yards, an NFL record until Emmitt Smith surpassed his total in 2002. Payton played his entire career with the Bears, leading them to a 15-1 regular season record and a Super Bowl title during the 1985 season. Payton, a member of both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame, tragically passed away in 1999 at the young age of 45. Payton has signed and inscribed the number “34” of this full-size Riddell Pro Line Chicago Bears helmet with a silver metallic paint pen on the left side. He inscribed “Sweetness” on the right side of the helmet with a silver metallic paint pen. This helmet has Bears “C” logo decals applied to each side of the helmet. An NFL Equipment shield and a Russell “R” logo appear on the back of the helmet. The signature and inscription are big and bold, and the helmet contains some scratches throughout that do nothing to limit the item’s luster. The Chicago Bears game model helmet comes with an LOA from JSA (X77420) for the signature and inscription.
