Offered is a Walter Payton signature and inscription on a white Chicago Bears road jersey. Payton was a star running back for the Chicago Bears for 13 seasons. A nine-time Pro Bowl selectee, “Sweetness” is remembered as a prolific rusher, once holding records for career rushing yards, touchdowns, carries, yards from scrimmage, all-purpose yards, and many other categories. He was the 1977 AP NFL Most Valuable Player and won Super Bowl XX with the 1985 Chicago Bears. He retired from football at the end of the 1987 season having rushed for at least 1,200 yards in 10 of his 13 seasons in the NFL.

Payton has signed his name in silver marker on the numeral “4” (of his number “34”) and inscribed “16,726 Sweetness” below his signature. The jersey is inscribed, also in silver marker, “232/634”. The white mesh jersey has Payton’s name in blue tackle twill across the back, above the blue with orange tackle twill “34”. The sleeves have the number “34” in blue with orange tackle twill above silk-screened blue and orange stripes. The front of the jersey has the number “34” in blue with orange borders.
