Former infielder Willie Randolph had a solid career, mostly spent with the New York Yankees. The sure-handed second baseman was winding down his career in 1991 when he joined the Milwaukee Brewers. What started as a platoon with second baseman Jim Gantner, Randolph’s play earned him more playing time as Gantner was moved to third base. During the April 15th, 1991 game at Milwaukee’s County Stadium, Randolph reached the 2,000-hit plateau when he singled off of Orioles pitcher Mark Williamson in the bottom of the ninth inning.

This offered baseball was the very ball Randolph hit to collect his 2,000th career hit.
