This basketball was used during the Cleveland Cavaliers April 5th, 1984 home game against the Chicago Bulls. Just two months later the Bulls would select a fresh-faced shooting guard from North Carolina named Michael Jeffery Jordan in the NBA Draft, forever altering the course of the NBA. There was no Jordan to help the Bulls in this game, as Lonnie Shelton and World B. Free helped lead the Cavaliers to a 114-99 victory over the visiting Bulls. Free dropped 13 points in only 20 minutes, a typically efficient performance from the star shooting guard. One of the points scored by Free in this game was the 14,000th of his over 17,000 career points. This basketball was painted to honor the accomplishment. “World B. Free / 14,000th POINT 4/5/84 / CAVS VS BULLS” is painted in white paint on this Spalding basketball. Free signed the ball in black marker and this item comes with a LOA from Sandee Free.
