National Hockey League Hall of Famer Yvan Cournoyer, was known as “The Roadrunner” during his 16-year career with the Montreal Canadians for both his dazzling speed and diminutive size. Cournoyer made his NHL debut with the Canadians in 1963 and scored a career-high 47 goals during the 1971-1972 season. Cournoyer won the league’s Con Smythe Trophy for his outstanding performance in the 1973 post-season, with 15 goals and 10 assists in 17 playoff games including the Canadians defeat of the Chicago Black Hawks in the Stanley Cup Finals. He was named the team’s captain in 1975 following the retirement of the legendary Henri Richard and won 10 Stanley Cups with Montreal. Cournoyer retired in 1979 and was elected to the NHL Hall of Fame three years later. This 14K, size 10.5NHL Hall of Fame ring is the original ring presented to Cournoyer on the September 8, 1982 date of his induction and contains a circle of 20 diamonds surrounding the Hall of Fame logo and lettering on the top. “Y. Cournoyer 1982” and “14K” are engraved on the interior band. The historic piece of personal memorabilia is contained in a black cardboard jeweler’s box and comes with a Collections Classic Collectibles LOA signed by Cournoyer.
