Arthur Miller’s unique series “A Baseball Card That Never Was” continues with this modern entrant featuring the Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench, titled “A Baseball Card That Never Was: Johnny Bench (1948 Leaf)”. This artwork is a mixed media on canvas; specifically, the mixed media is acrylic enamel house paint, oil pastels and colored pencils and sealed with varnish. This original artwork imagines what a Bench entry in the iconic 1948 Leaf set would look like. Bench is shown in his home whites, with a red Cincinnati Reds cap and 1970’s-style sideburns.
