This Summer Issue No. 2 of the “Negro Heroes” comic book series shows Jackie Robinson making a beautiful catch in front of the Ebbets Field grandstand. This book features many vibrant, colorful stories about Robinson, who had just completed his first season in the Major Leagues, winning the National League Rookie of the Year award with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Also featured in this comic book are Booker T. Washington, Sadie T.M. Alexander, and Sugarchile Robinson. The back cover features an antidiscrimination ad from the National Urban League. This comic book is in excellent condition, and the colors are still as aesthetically pleasing as the day it was released in 1948.
