Presented here are two press books from the 1950 film, The Jackie Robinson Story. Robinson plays himself in this film, with Ruby Dee appearing as Rachel Robinson and Minor Watson as Branch Rickey. Released to rave reviews, The Jackie Robinson Story was a sensation thanks to the phenomenon of Robinson.

     The first, smaller, press booklet features a biography of Robinson, as well as his career statistics up to 1950. It also includes numerous stills from the film acting as a storyboard. The second press book is larger, and is chock full of promotional material from the movie, including newspaper ads and movie posters. This book measures 17 ½ by 11 inches.
