The assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas reverberated throughout the globe, and the infamous event remains the object of universal fascination. Presented here are sixteen signed items, collectively displaying the signatures of eight men whose careers intersected with destiny on that terrible day. Each item has been vividly signed in ink. Includes: James Leavelle (3 Signed Items) - Including two personalized photos and a typewritten questionnaire. Leavelle (1920-) is the homicide detective who was escorting Lee Harvey Oswald as the accused assassin was gunned down by Jack Ruby on November 24, 1963; Paul Landis (1 Signed Item) and Clint Hill (2 Signed Items) - Landis has signed an index card and Hill (1932-) penned two photos. These men were members of Kennedy's Secret Service detail. Hill heroically shielded Pres. and Mrs. Kennedy from additional fire after the shooting began; Gene Boone (6 Signed Items) - Including photo, postcard, letter, two small paper pieces and a baseball (2009 OWS-Selig ball), signed in blue marker and inscribed, "Deputy Sheriff - Dallas County Texas - 1962-1992." Boone was the policeman who discovered Oswald's rifle - the murder weapon - on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository Building; Ronald Jones (1 Signed Item) - index card. Dr. Jones attempted to resuscitate Kennedy; Kenneth Salyer (1 Signed Item) - business card. Dr. Salyer treated the wounded president; Cyril H. Wecht (1 Signed Item)- questionnaire. Dr. Wecht was a forensic pathologist who reported to the Warren Commission; Tim Cheek (1 Signed Item) - questionnaire. Lance Corporal Cheek was the U.S. Marine Corps pallbearer for the fallen president.
