For his entire career, Derek Jeter has used the black finish Louisville Slugger P72 model bat. Maybe the company was looking to expand their services for Captain Clutch when they began to make this prototype for Jeter. The "bat" is mostly finished but still has the original lathe knobs at both ends, with each end showing some lathe markings. The C243 signature model bat has deeply burned stampings, and looks extremely sharp. We have never seen a prototype Louisville Slugger bat like this, and if many do exist, they are certainly not of the player stature as Derek Jeter. Bat is double stamped, with Jeter's name and the Louisville Slugger logo appearing on both sides of the bat.
