Presented here is a limited-edition Spalding Los Angeles Lakers basketball celebrating the Lakers’ 2000 NBA title over the Indiana Pacers. The Los Angeles Lakers are undeniably on the shortlist of great franchises in NBA history, and the 1999-2000 season started another team dynasty. The Lakers cruised through the regular season, posting a record of 67-15 under head coach Phil Jackson. Shaquille O’Neal - named league MVP - averaged 29.7 points, 13.6 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game. Kobe Bryant wasn’t too shabby himself, posting per-game averages of 22.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. The Lakers’ season ended with a 4-2 series win over the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Finals, giving Los Angeles the first of what would be three straight NBA titles.

The presented Spalding limited-edition of 5,000 commemorative basketball features “SPALDING” imprinted in black on two of the leather panels. A white panel labeled “LOS ANGELES LAKERS” lists their championships from their days as the Minneapolis Lakers and Los Angeles Lakers. “CELEBRATING 12” and “2000 NBA CHAMPIONSHIP Los Angeles Lakers vs. Indiana Pacers (4-2)” are stamped below the championship stats panel. Two white panels are labeled with the history of the Lakers franchise and detail their start in Minneapolis to their home in Los Angeles. 14 members of the 2000-2001 Lakers team have signed this ball with a black marker, with key signatures from Hall of Famers Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal. Other signatures on the ball are from Derek Fisher, Horace Grant, Ron Harper, Isaiah Rider, Robert Horry, Tyronn Lue, Mike Penberthy, Mark Madsen, Devean George, and Brian Shaw. The signatures are bold, and the commemorative basketball is in great condition and comes with an LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signatures.
