Lot #337: Jim Thome Game Used and Signed First Baseman’s Glove (PSA/DNA)

Description

First base is a position traditionally occupied by left-handers but former Cleveland Indians and Philadelphia Phillies slugger Jim Thome, who batted from the left side but was a right-handed fielder manned the spot admirably for the better part of 12 seasons before becoming a DH with the Chicago White Sox late in his career.

Thome wore this snazzy black and tan Wilson professional model 16113 A2800 circa 1999-2000 during his glory days with the Tribe. Thin, lightweight glove feels great on the hand with quick snapping action and shows excellent evidence of game use with even wear on the pocket, web face and web crotch and some scuffing along the finger tips and top of the web. Black body and tan web are constructed of top grade cowhide and bound with tan rawhide laces. Glove features Triple-T Bar Web and closed back with finger hole. Gold on black Wilson “W” circular manufacturer’s logo label is inlaid on the back of the thumb and gold embroidered “The A2800” and Wilson strip tag with dual MLB logos are on the back. “Jim Thome” is embroidered in red black letters along the outer thumb which also signed by Thome in bright silver sharpie. Fantastic working man’s glove is ready to play and comes with PSA/DNA LOA 1G00179 and certification #X97479.
