Offered is a 15 x 20-in folded sheet of parchment paper commemorating the 1876 centennial of the Declaration of Independence. “Compliments of Col. Watson of the Peabody Hotel, Philadelphia and Henrie House, Cincinnati” is printed in black ink across the top and bottom of the document, with a decorated border of stars, stripes and laurels beneath U.S. flags and an eagle. The document is labelled 1776-1876 Centennial Memorial” above the Declaration of Independence, which is printed in script. A small advertisement for “Watson’s Peabody Hotel” is in the lower right corner of the document, along with a drawing of the building. There is a small brown stain in the upper left corner of the document, and some brown spots in the upper right corner; a small tear in the right middle along the fold, and a small tear in the lower left corner.
