This scorebook is a baseball time capsule from baseball’s “Dead Ball” era and a unique item that belonged to Norman P. Johnson. Johnson’s meticulously detailed scorebook speaks to a keen baseball mind and fan or that of a journalist, as Johnson covered the Minneapolis Millers to the Boston Red Sox. This specimen features box scores from games featuring Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Rube Marquard, and a glimpse into the pre-war era baseball that is frequently unseen. The bulk of the scores are for Red Sox games and are an incredible relic from Babe Ruth’s early days as a Red Sox. “SCORE BOOK’ appears across the burgundy cover, with “VICTOR SPORTING GOODS CO #2” stamped across the front of the scorebook. The Victor Baseball scorebook is in good condition, remains firmly bound, and all of the interior pages are free of any significant flaws.
