Offered here is one of the earliest card items depicting basketball players. Produced by Hickey's, a Detroit-area concern, the incredibly scarce souvenir folio features an "accordion"-style fold-out of nine different subjects representing a variety of sports. Measuring approximately 4-1/2" x 7-1/2", the front cover features an illustration of track star James McNally. When opened, the strip expands to nearly 40 inches in total length, and reveals color images of another eight athletes, including: Tommy Grimshaw, Jake Mazer, Neil Patterson, Dixie B. Duffield, James Montgomery, Bobby Lampson, George Widman and Ernie Vaughn. The nicely preserved item's cards project overall EX to NM display quality.
