Graded EX 5 by PSA. Hall of Famer. This is one of twelve examples at its tier (with eight at higher levels) among a total of 138 copies recorded in PSA’s census reporting. Clearly, this is one of the most beautiful Christy Mathewson cards ever produced. This lovely "E" card features a detailed picture of "Big Six" in a set-to-pitch pose, with lush pastel hues in the background. The card has Matty's name (misspelled Matthewson) and team printed on the front, with a series checklist on the reverse. This example is well-centered with great colors. Light wear is evident at the corners and the back is perfectly clean. A very desirable card that retains tremendous visual appeal. Excellent condition.
