1924 marked the famous first World Series for the Big Train Walter Johnson, who was the winning pitcher in Game 7. The Washington Senators beat the New York Giants in seven games to culminate a series where the Giants became the first team to play in four consecutive World Series, winning in 1921–1922 and losing in 1923–1924. With Game 7 going 12 innings, it was the second extra-inning World Series-deciding game in history (also occurred in 1912) and it wouldn’t happen again until 1991. This 1924 World Series program was issued in the Nation’s Capital during the Washington Senators only successful Fall Classic endeavor. Is a survivor from a storied franchise’s most glorious effort. The front cover has a local flavor with a black-and-white photo of Senators’ skipper Bucky Harris shaking hands with President Calvin Coolidge. In a unique format, the interior covers are home to scoring grids with pre-printed lineups, while the 32 interior pages feature black-and-white photographs of Senators players. The program is in VG or better condition with some edge wear but all pages are present and the scorecards which reside on the inside of the front and back covers remain unscored.
