The famed Uruguayan architect Juan Scasso was presented with this medal by the Jockey Club of Montevideo in 1929. Scasso was an important architect in early 20th century Uruguay, designing the famous Estadio Centenario, the Hotel Miramar, and the Escuela Experimental de Malvin, among other renowned edifices and structures. In addition to his work on Montevideo’s grandest soccer stadium, Scasso became the chairman of Peñarol in 1932. This offered medal is silver, with “Juan A. Scasso” etched below a blue “1929” crest on one side of the medal. The opposite side features a high relief etching of two racehorses and “JOCKEY CLUB”. This medal is in excellent condition.
