Graded EX 5 by PSA. Hall of Famer. No "sophomore jinx" for the "Splendid Splinter!" In 1940, the young Ted Williams enjoyed a solid campaign. He led the league in runs scored and on-base percentage while batting a whopping .344 – which, coincidentally, is also his lifetime batting average. The black-and-white, photographic design of Williams' second-year card afforded collectors this appealing depiction of the future American icon. Its cardfront image reveals deep, rich detail, and the card's surfaces exhibit very mild evidence of past handling. A popular Ted Williams commemorative, in Excellent condition.
