Offered in this lot are two ticket stubs to MLB All-Star Games of the 1940’s. The first ticket is to the 1940 All-Star Game, held at Sportsman’s Park in St. Louis on July 9th, 1940. The National League won this game 4-0 after Max West crushed a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning. Paul Derringer picked up the win while Red Ruffing was forced to eat the loss. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20810065). The second ticket in this lot is from the 1947 All-Star Game at Wrigley Field on July 8th, 1947. The American League got an RBI from Stan Spence and scored a run on Joe DiMaggio’s sixth inning GDP, as they overcame a solo homer from Johnny Mize to win 2-1. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and graded a VG-EX 4 by PSA.
