Presented here is a fascinating and unique Wilson Official baseball signed by 14 cast members of the 1942 movie “The Pride of the Yankees”. This movie was a biography of Lou Gehrig, the Hall of Fame first baseman who succumbed to ALS in 1941. Several of Ruth’s teammates, including Babe Ruth, Bill Dickey, Mark Koenig and more, had roles in this film.

Babe Ruth’s signature is in black pen across the sweet spot, with fellow Hall of Famer Bill Dickey on the south panel. Also appearing on the south panel is the signature of legendary actor and the star of “The Pride of the Yankees” Gary Cooper, who portrayed Lou Gehrig. The north panel has the signatures of Lefty O’Doul, Walter Brennan, Bob Meusel and two unidentified signatures. The east panel has the signatures of an unidentified signature, super-agent Christy Walsh and Mark Koenig. The west panel has the signatures of Babe Herman, Lloyd Brown and Jack Salveson.
