Cleveland Browns quarterback Otto Graham spent the 1940’s and 1950’s carving up NFL defenses with a precision unknown in his era, ending a ten-season career with an unbelievable 57-13-1 record in the NFL. Graham led his league in passing yardage five times, winning three NFL titles and an additional four titles in the AAFC. A three-time UPI NFL MVP, Graham was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1965.

The Illinois-born Graham played his college ball at Northwestern for coach Pappy Waldorf, enjoying his best season in 1943 as the Heisman Trophy third-place finisher behind Angelo Bertelli of Notre Dame and Bob Odell of Penn. Northwestern defeated the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes and then-14th Great Lakes Naval Station to finish 9-2 and in the AP Poll’s ninth slot. Graham was named an All-American in 1943, and he ended the season as the Big Ten’s all-time leading passer.

Offered in this lot is an All-American sweater owned and worn by Otto Graham. The sweater features an All-American logo patch sewn on the chest. One of the four stars on the All-American logo is yellow, while the remaining stars are white. A Catalina Knitting Mills tag is sewn on the back inside collar. Printed on the tag is “The All Wool Catalina / Selected The Official Sweater / All America / Board of Football / Catalina Knitting Mills - Los Angeles”. The sweater shows minor wear and comes with a LOA from Otto Graham.
