In 1946, before he made his debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers, Jackie Robinson played for the Montreal Royals of the AAA International League. Robinson showed that he truly belonged in professional baseball that season, hitting .349 and winning the International League MVP Award.

Presented here is a Paul Stuart Parade Sportive Montreal Royals team card for the 1946 season. Robinson was not the only African-American player on the Royals this season, as the pitchers Johnny Wright and Roy Partlow also played for the Montreal ballclub. This 5x9 ½ inch card is the version with the ACME tab on the left side and features a team photograph of the Royals, with Jackie Robinson pictured on the far right. The card is in excellent condition with great corners and no creasing.
