Buddy Rosar began his big-league career as Bill Dickey’s understudy on the Yankees of the early 1940’s. With Dickey immoveable as the Yankees backstop, Rosar was traded to the Indians where he was able to play every day. By the late 1940’s, the period this bat dates to, Rosar had carved out his place as the perennial All-Star catcher for Connie Mack’s Philadelphia Athletics.

This Hillerich & Bradsby R100 model bat was used by Buddy Rosar during the 1948 and 1949 seasons. The bat shows excellent use with a handle crack. Several ball marks with stitch impressions can be seen on the left and back barrel and green bat rack paint streaks are present. The barrel has been scored on the left and back sides and the model number “R100” has been stamped into the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B12804) and MEARS (304903) for the game use and has been graded a solid A7.5.
