Graded VG 3 by SGC. Hall of Famer, in a debut gum card appearance. Jackie Robinson was one of the most memorable figures ever associated with the game, and inspiring stories, in abundance, exist about all facets of Robinson's career. Accordingly, the Dodger icon's rookie cards are viewed as important cornerstones in any accomplished card collection. One of Robinson's first commemoratives is among the keys in the popular baseball series produced by Leaf, a notably scarce post-war issue. The offered example is a quality depiction, with four well-formed corners. The reverse side of the collectible carries an intriguing red-stage, printed portrait likeness of Robinson, a result of bleeding ink from another card. (Technically a "fault," this discrepancy actually contributes a subjectively pleasing, ethereal effect to the card's back.) A significant, sought-after piece, in Very Good condition.
