Presented is a Mel Ott signature on a 3 ½ x 5 ½-inch post card, along with an 8 x 10-inch black and white portrait photograph of Ott in his New York Giants baseball uniform from the chest up. Ott has signed the postcard in blue ink on one side of the ivory post card on the left side, under his mailing address (printed in black). The reverse side has a black cancellation stamp from “HAMILTON GRANGE STATION NEW YORK, N.Y. JUN 16 12:30 PM 1948”, and a handwritten address, in blue ink, “Skippy Campbell, 390 Waltham Street, West Newton, Mass.” Ott was a standout right fielder for the New York Giants from 1926 – 1947, and also managed the club from 1942 to 1948. He was an MLB All-Star for 11 consecutive seasons and was the first National League player to surpass 500 career home runs (511). He was a key part of the 1933 Giants World Series Championship team. He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1951. This item comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (S07433).
