Presented here is Harold “Pee Wee” Reese’s signed 1948 Brooklyn Dodgers Uniform Player’s Contract. Reese, who played his entire 16-season career with the Dodgers, made the National League All-Star team in 1948 after hitting .274 with nine homers, 75 RBI, and 25 stolen bases. Reese connected on 31 doubles in 1948 and scored 96 runs, the second most on the Dodgers behind Jackie Robinson. Reese remained with the Dodgers for the next decade, retiring after the franchise’s first season in Los Angeles. He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984 by the Veterans Committee. This contract is for the salary of $17,500, and it has been signed by Reese in black pen. Additionally, Dodgers General Manager Branch Rickey has also signed the contract, using a blue pen. This contract comes with a LOA from JSA (Z67477).
