Offered is a sterling silver makeup compact commemorating the 1950 New York Yankees World Champions. The 3-inch circumference silver compact has a gold Yankees logo set into the top, with a raised bat and top hat also in gold. The top hat has four red, four white and four blue gemstones inset. The compact has the words “WORLD CHAMPIONS 1950” engraved around the gold Yankees logo. The interior the compact has a small latch that opens up the “powder” container. The word “STERLING” is engraved on the compact’s lip near the latch. The 1950 New York Yankees team was managed by Casey Stengel, and featured future Hall of Famers Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, Phil Rizzuto, Hank Bauer and Whitey Ford, among others. The team finished with a record of 98–56, winning their 17th pennant, finishing 3 games ahead of the Detroit Tigers. In the World Series, they defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in 4 games.
