The couple was photographed at the fanciest nightspots, with even the normally taciturn DiMaggio smiling broadly in his marital bliss. After only a few years of marriage, the couple divorced, brought on by DiMaggio’s alleged jealousy and Monroe’s skyrocketing career. Dated January 14, 1954, this State of California Certificate certifies that Joseph DiMaggio and Norma Jeane Dougherty were a married couple. The document is signed by California Municipal Court Judge Charles S. Peery who presided over the wedding and Rene Barsocchini and Tom DiMaggio are listed as witnesses. The certificate is in very good condition with just light toning to the edges. A true piece of American history that combines our love of sports and movies with a love story for the ages.
