After finally losing to the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1955 World series, the 1956 squad returned with a vengeance as they cruised to the American League pennant with a 97-57 record – nine games ahead of the second-place Chicago White Sox. The Yankees faced the Dodgers again in the World Series and this time the Bronx Bombers bested Brooklyn in seven games, including the historic perfect game thrown by Don Larsen in Game 5.

Offered here is an Official American League William Harridge stamped baseball with 28 signatures from that 1956 World Series New York Yankees’ squad. Unlike many of the team-signed baseballs from this era, this particular ball does not have any clubhouse signatures as all of the autographs were penned by the players. All of the players have signed their names in blue pen with Hall of Famer Yogi Berra’s signature across the sweet spot. The other Hall of Famers on this ball include Mickey Mantle, Phil Rizzuto and Whitey Ford. Other signatures include Don Larsen, who threw a perfect game in Game 5 of the 1956 World Series, Jim Konstanty, Billy Martin, Joe Collins, Jerry Coleman, Bob Cerv, Mickey McDermott, Gil McDougald, Bill Skowron, Charlie Silvera, Hank Bauer, Tom Sturdivant, Andy Carey, Tommy Byrne, Irv Noren, Ed Robinson, Rip Coleman, Johnny Kucks, Tom Carroll, Gerry Staley and a few others. The signatures on this ball are clear and in good condition and the ball itself displays moderate toning. The stampings are light but still readable. This ball comes with a LOA from JSA (Z39291).
