Offered here is an incredible game used Dodgers cap worn by Hall of Famer Don Drysdale. This cap dates to Drysdales’s 1960-66 seasons. During those seasons, Drysdale combined to go 126-94 with a 2.87 ERA, while leading the National League in strikeouts in two of those seasons and games started in four seasons. Drysdale was the 1962 National League Cy Young Award winner. This size 7 3/8 all-blue cap was manufactured by the Tim McAuliffe Inc. of Boston and KM Pro Cap. The front has the interlocking “LA” embroidered in white and a green underside brim. The hat displays heavy game wear with dirt and sweat stains present throughout. The cap has a tan-colored plastic inner lining with the McAuliffe tag, KM Pro Cap and 7 3/8 stamps on the back. This cap comes with a LOA from MEARS (315428), who have dated this cap to the 1960-66 seasons and a letter of provenance from Don Drysdale’s widow Ann Meyers Drysdale, who states that “the aforementioned property belonged solely to my husband and our family”. Please note that Ann Meyers Drysdale’s LOA refers this hat to the 1958 season, however, MEARS determined this cap to be from the seasons referenced above based on the manufacturer’s tagging.
