Much to the consternation of National League pitchers, Hall of Famer Stan Musial's career seemed destined to never end. In 1961, Musial's 20th in the big leagues, he hit .288 and followed it up with .330, third best in the league. At 41 he also was the oldest man to hit three homers in one game. 1963 was his final season and upon retiring, Stan Musial held a staggering 17 MLB records, including most career extra base hits.
Offered here is Stan The Man's Hillerich & Bradsby model M159 bat dated to the 1961-63 seasons showing light use and is uncracked. There are several ball and stitch impressions that are seen on the barrel, as are black ink transfers from ball contact. Additionally, green bat rack streaks are visible on the handle, along with surface staining and general scuffing that gives this Musial bat character. The model number "M159" is stamped into the knob and the weight "31" is handwritten in pencil. Stan's famed number "6" is on the knob end in aged black marker. This impressive gamer comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B05680) who have graded this bat a GU 7.
