Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this Mount St. Michael Academy Block “M” Dinner Plaque for Outstanding Opponent in 1963. Abdul-Jabbar, known then as Lew Alcindor, was a star for Power Memorial Academy and one of New York’s greatest schoolboy basketball players. This plaque measures 7.5 x 6.75 inches at its widest dimensions. A metal plaque on this award reads “Mount St. Michael Academy / 9th Annual Block ‘M’ Dinner / 1963 / Outstanding Opponent / Lewis Alcindor”. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
