Mickey Mantle began the 1965 season as number 5 on the list of career home runs and by far the most popular player in the game. Ever the professional, Mantle didn’t let several stretches on the disabled list stop him from hitting 19 home runs and make the All-Star team. The next season he surpassed all expectations by hitting another 23 homers and then in 1967 became only the sixth man to hit 500 career home runs. The Mick’s 1965-1967 Hillerich & Bradsby M110 model bat shows great game use. The barrel displays several prominent ball marks that include ink transfers and scuffs. There are many bat rack paint streaks, cleat imprints and abrasions from contact with other equipment. The handle appears to have been scored to enhance the grip and the knob has been stamped with the model number, “M110.” This bat comes with a LOA from MEARS (315209) for the game use and has been graded an A6.5.
