Hall of Famer George Sisler was one of the best first basemen in baseball during his career, winning the 1922 American League MVP Award after hitting for an astronomical .420 batting average. Sisler used his impeccable eye at the plate and quickness on the base paths to collect of 2,800 hits in his career while maintaining a sterling .340 batting average despite beginning his pro career as a pitcher. He retired after the 1930 season and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame as a member of its fourth class, in 1939.

Sisler signed his name in bold blue pen across the sweet spot of this Official Joseph E. Cronin American League baseball. This ball was signed on June 1st, 1965, according to the inscription that Sisler penned on the sided panel “To Bill Jr 6/1/65”. This baseball displays moderate toning and the commissioner’s stamp is faded, but still readable. There are some stains on the baseball, but they do not detract from the very large and bold signature of the great Hall of Famer. This baseball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AE08134) for the signature.
