Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this “Outstanding Opponent” award by the Mount St. Michael Men’s Club in 1965. Abdul-Jabbar, at the time known as Lew Alcindor, was one of the greatest prep basketball stars in the rich history of New York hoops, leading Power Memorial Academy to an unprecedented 71-game winning streak during his scholastic days. This shield-shaped award measures 8 x 7 inches at its widest dimensions. A placard affixed to the front reads “Mount St. Michael Mens’ Club 11th Annual Block ‘M’ Dinner Outstanding Opponent Lewis Alcindor June 19, 1965”. This item comes with a LOA signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
