Offered here is a game used baseball heavily inscribed from Hall of Famer Bob Gibson’s eighth win of the 1967 season. Gibson went the distance during the June 14th game at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh as the Cardinals defeated the Pirates 7-4. Gibson pitched nine innings, allowing four earned runs on 11 hits and seven strikeouts to earn the victory. This Official National League Warren Giles stamped ball has the box score from the game painted on in red and black starting from the west panel, going across the sweet spot and ending on the east panel. The Cardinals’ line is in red and reads “CARDINALS-420000100-7-9-2”, while the Pirates line score in black reads “PIRATES-030000010-4-11-0”. The north panel has inscribed in red and black “#8 VICTORY GIBSON vs O’DELL-S-L-5-3 SISK, LAW, McBEAN SO-GIBSON-7 BB-GIBSON-1 R-ER-GIBSON-4-4 T-2:32 A-14,217 D-JUNE 14, 1967”.
