Hall of Fame manager Dick Williams has signed this Topps Chewing Gum check twice. It is dated to March 22nd, 1967, just prior to the start of the MLB season. 1967 was Williams’ first year as a MLB skipper, and he led the Red Sox to an improbable American League pennant in their “Impossible Dream” season. Although the Red Sox did not win the World Series, this team has gone down in history as one of the greatest Red Sox squads to take the field at Fenway Park. This check is for $5.00, and Williams has signed the front in blue pen as “Richard H. Williams”. Williams has signed the back of the check as well, also as “Richard H. Williams” in blue pen. This item has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (81911670).
