Widely regarded as baseball’s true home run king, Hank Aaron hit 755 home runs over his illustrious 23-year career. Even 40 years after his retirement, Aaron still holds numerous records, including most career RBI and total bases. Aaron, the 1957 National League MVP, was selected to 21 All-Star teams. He finished his career with an incredible 3,771 hits, 2,297 RBI, and a .305 batting average. Aaron was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982, on his first ballot.

The late Hall of Famer added 29 home runs to his soon-to-be record-setting home run total during the 1968 season with the Atlanta Braves. Aaron appeared in 160 games where he batted a solid .287 and added 86 RBI to his still record-holding total and earned his 14th All-Star Game selection. Presented here is one of the bats used by Hammerin Hank during the 1968 season.

Aaron’s Hillerich & Bradsby A99 model bat was used during the 1968 season and displays outstanding game use. This bat is un-cracked and has numerous ball marks, black ink transfers, white leather scuffs, cleat imprints and blue bat rack streaks present on the barrel. The bat’s model number “A99” is stamped on the knob and Aaron’s number “44” is handwritten on the knob and top barrel in black marker. The bat’s length (35 inches) and current weight (32 ounces) is consistent with a bat order placed on January 29th, 1968. That order consisted of six bats, which were 35 inches long and weights of 33 ounces. Aaron has signed his name in black marker on the barrel and this bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B25106) for the game use and has been given the highest possible grade of GU 10. This bat is one of only 10 ever graded PSA/DNA GU 10 and only one time in his career did he order a flame tempered bat. Aaron ordered six in 1968 and it’s the only one PSA/DNA has ever graded, a 1 of 1! Additionally, there is a LOA from Beckett Authentication for Aaron's signature. Please note that this item was recently authenticated by Beckett Authentication. An LOA will be pictured in this lot when it is received in our office and will be shipped to the winner.
