Under legendary head coach Woody Hayes, the 1968 Ohio State Buckeyes finished the regular season with a record of 9-0. Victories included a 13-0 shutout of then-No. 1 Purdue and a 50-14 blowout of No. 4 Michigan. The latter propelled Ohio State to the top ranking in the country as they would face second-ranked USC in the Rose Bowl. The Buckeyes were victorious, 27-16, claiming the national championship. Jim Otis was the team’s big weapon for the season, racking up 985 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns.
Presented here is a Jostens 10K gold 1968 Ohio State Buckeyes NCAA football national championship ring, featuring a large red stone top. “OHIO” is embossed in gold lettering on the stone, reading diagonally from top left to bottom right. “NATIONAL CHAMPIONS” appears in relief around the bezel.
