Graded 98 GEM 10 ("GEM MT 10" equivalent) by SGC. Hall of Famer, in his Rookie Card appearance. Presented is the cherished debut card of the youthful future pitching legend. As a young hurler, Ryan was erratic with his pitches. But, for what he lacked in control he compensated in velocity. And who knew that after one of the longest careers in Major League history, from 1966 to 1993, he would set so many records? (Most notably, 5,714 strikeouts and seven no-hitters.) Ryan became to pitching what Lou Gehrig was to fielding and hitting, a veritable "Iron Man." This incomparable foundation piece from Ryan's great career is virtually flawless in every respect. Its corners are impeccable, and its inking, at each fiber, reflects quality that's demonstrably superior to all others. The reflective capacity of this special piece's pristine surface gloss is simply stunning, and the item's projection of color is unequaled. SGC's careful scrutiny has affirmed only one other, equivalent copy of this depiction at the Gem Mint level, and PSA has acknowledged just one "GEM MT 10" specimen.
