Kareem Abdul-Jabbar finished his legendary collegiate career at UCLA with a senior season for the ages in 1968-69. Abdul-Jabbar led the Bruins to their third straight national title, defeating Purdue in the championship game to finish the season at 29-1. Abdul-Jabbar won the inaugural Naismith Player of the Year award that season, as well as this Coach & Athlete Magazine Player of the Year Award. This plaque measures 10.75 x 13.25 inches and is printed with “Coach & Athlete Magazine Award / This certifies that Lew Alcindor U.C.L.A. has been named Player of the Year in Basketball for The Nation”. It was presented to Abdul-Jabbar on March 21st, 1969. This award comes with a LOA signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
